Latest News - Sebanyak 248 siswa tingkat sekolah menengah pertama (SMP) dan sederajat se- Kabupaten Gowa dipastikan tidak lulus dalam pelaksanaan ujian nasional (UN) 2010. Berdasarkan hasil pendataan panitia UN Kabupaten Gowa, dari total 8.922 peserta UN,tercatat 254 orang tidak hadir. Kendati demikian, hanya enam siswa yang hadir mengikuti ujian susulan yang dipusatkan di SMPN 1 Sungguminasa mulai Senin (5/4) kemarin hingga Kamis (9/4).

Keenam peserta itu,yakni SMP PGRI 2 orang, SMPN 3 Pallangga 1 orang, SMP Yapip 1 orang,SMPN 2 Sungguminasa 1 orang, MTs Muhammadiyah Mandalle 1 orang, dan MTs Ibnul Amin Samata hanya 1 dari 3 orang melapor. “Karena hanya enam siswa yang ikutan susulan, sudah pasti sisanya 248 orang, tidak akan lulus tahun ini,”ungkap wakil ketua panitia UN Gowa bidang SMP dan SD, Sappe Mangiriang, di Sungguminasa, kemarin.

Dia menjelaskan, keenam siswa yang ikut susulan ini tidak sepenuhnya akan mengikuti ujian selama empat hari yang dijadwalkan. Sebab, ada di antaranya yang hadir ujian hari pertama saja, sementara hari kedua dan ketiga sakit. Begitu juga sebaliknya, ada yang tidak hadir hari pertama saja. “Misalnya kalau siswa itu hanya tidak ikut ujian bahasa Indonesia, pada susulan ini dia hanya ikut mata ujian itu saja,”ujarnya.

Menurut dia, standar pelaksanaan UN susulan tidak berbeda dengan soal UN pertama, termasuk pengawalan dan pengawasan, semua sesuai standar penye-lenggaraan UN. “Tidak ada pengecualian.Tetap akan kami pantau seperti temantemannya yang lebih dulu mengerjakan soal-soal UN,”katanya. The new home screen seems to have taken on an Android-like appearance, allowing users to access a list of applications bordered on either the left or right of the home screen. Overall, it should work better than the current OS 5.0 hassle to switch between applications. Another interesting feature which has a lot of tongues wagging is how the techies at RIM have managed to develop a more contextual menu which pops up with more interactive icons when the touch screen is held for nine seconds or more.

Taking a look at the photo app for the new BlackBerry OS 6.0, you can’t help but think how similar it is in function to the Apple iPhone picture application – which also means it works like a charm. Scrolling on the new OS also seems to be breeze with the new kinetic scrolling feature which really pushes the BlackBerry’s touch screen technology.

We first got wind of RIM developing the new OS in February and a few months later we have the leak and screenshots on what it should look like and how it should work. The new BlackBerry OS 6.0 was planned to be unveiled at WES 2010, and rumor has it that Apple’s iPhone 0S 4.0 should be dropping around the same time. Lindsay Lohan - When the Academy of Country Music Awards nominations came out in early March, most of the attention went to Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year and the other "big show" awards that will be handed out live on CBS at 7 p.m. today. Artists like Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift and the Zac Brown Band might be household names, but one nominee hits close to home for Southeast Missourians.

Mark Hill, originally from Olive Branch, Ill., has been nominated for Top Bass Player of the Year for the 2010 Academy of Country Music. Hill, a studio and touring bassist, has been in Nashville for nearly 20 years. In 2009, Hill was listed as No. 4 on Music Row Magazine's top bass players.

"It's based on how many top-grossing records that you play on, so that was very cool to see," Hill said.

"The awards are great; when people say it's great to be nominated, it's very true," he said. "I was telling my wife when I found out I was nominated, I said, 'People say it's great to be nominated, but I want to win.'"

Hill works a busy schedule, recording anywhere from 500 to 600 sessions a year. Names like Toby Keith, Martina McBride and Carrie Underwood standout on his list of credits, and he was the band leader and bassist for Keith Urban on his last 60-city U.S. and Australia tour.

"When I first got into town, I had this bass player who was my mentor, Jimmy Lee Sloas. He kind of hauled me around town and showed me the ropes, and was really good to me," said Hill. "He was on that list [Music Row Magazine] too, and for the ACM nomination he is nominated for the award with me. It's really cool to be on two lists with your mentor."

Constantly working on the next greatest recording, Hill's schedule is packed, even with the economy in the shape it is.

"The economy thing has just started hitting here, as far as the music business is concerned," Hill said. "2009 and the first part of 2010 have been a bit of a roller coaster, because people are scrambling here to make sure the business stays intact. With downloads and YouTube, sales are down and that affects everybody, from the artists all the way down to the cartage guys who haul all of our gear around.

"It's been a little more of a bumpy ride the last couple of years, but I'm still doing well," Hill said. "Right now, I'm in the middle of a lot of the independent artists. The positive side of the Internet is that the independent artists have a lot more available to them as far as getting their stuff out."

"You can put stuff on iTunes now, and you don't have to have any kind of backing or label, so I do a lot of that stuff. That and upcoming country artists fill up my week now," said Hill.

Bikini Pics - The science writer Simon Singh stands to lose £60,000 in legal costs despite winning a case against chiropractors who sued him for libel over his criticism of their medical claims. The British Chiropractic Association (BCA) dropped its action against the journalist yesterday after a Court of Appeal ruling two weeks ago found that Dr Singh’s “honest opinion” was entitled to a fair comment defence. The judgment noted that: “Scientific controversies must be settled by the methods of science rather than by the methods of litigation.”

The BCA had sued Dr Singh for libel over a newspaper article in which he alleged that the organisation promoted “bogus treatments”, such as chiropractic for childhood asthma and colic, that were not supported by evidence.

Although Dr Singh’s lawyers will pursue the BCA for costs, he is likely to recover only 70 per cent of the £200,000 he has spent on defending himself.

Dr Singh said that the bill he faced, even after being vindicated, highlighted the “chilling effect” of English libel law on freedom of expression.

“My bill for a clear victory could be £60,000,” he said. “That explains why people don’t fight libel cases: even if you win, you lose. My victory does not mean that our libel laws are OK, because I won despite the libel laws.

“English libel law is so intimidating, so expensive, so hostile to serious journalists that it has a chilling effect on all areas of debate, silencing scientists, journalists, bloggers, human rights activists and everyone else who dares to tackle serious matters of public interest.”

His solicitor, Robert Dougans, of Bryan Cave LLP, said: “In the game of libel, even winning is costly and stressful. Until we have a proper public interest defence, scientists and writers are going to have to carry on making the unenviable choice of either shying away from hard-hitting debate, or paying through the nose for the privilege of defending it.”

The Court of Appeal reversed a ruling by the High Court last May that Dr Singh’s comments were factual assertions rather than expressions of opinion, which meant that he could not use the defence of fair comment.

In a statement the BCA said: “The decision provides Dr Singh with a defence such that the BCA has taken the view that it should withdraw to avoid further legal costs being incurred by either side.”

Mr Dougans said that the Court of Appeal judgment would help other scientists and science writers to defend libel actions, such as Peter Wilmshurst, a cardiologist who is being sued for raising concerns about research into a heart device. It will not now be reviewed by the Supreme Court.

“It is going to become increasingly difficult to sue over public debate of scientific issues,” he said. “Dr Wilmshurst is going to have a cast-iron defence now.”

Mr Dougans noted, however, that defendants rarely recovered more than 70 per cent of their costs even when libel actions were dropped.

Dr Singh could also incur further costs if the BCA does not have the funds to reimburse him. Had he lost the case at trial, he could have been liable for costs of both sides of up to £1 million. He said that he had spent 45 full weeks working on the case over the past two years, adding: “That is essentially a year’s worth of work and earnings.”

He said that he felt a huge relief. “Fortunately the case has ended when my son Hari is only three weeks old, so I can now relax and enjoy being a father.

“The good news is that all three main parties this week committed to a libel reform Bill in the next Parliament. But libel reform has to be radical. Cutting costs by a half means that a trial will not cost £1 million but cost £500,000, but this is still extortionate. Costs need to be cut by a factor of 10 at least.”

He added: “The Court of Appeal judgment says that when a science journalist is sued for libel for criticising evidence, the defence of fair comment should be the default position. But that doesn’t stop libel tourism, or huge companies suing individual scientists, journalists or bloggers to silence them.”

Bertemunya PDI Perjuangan dan PKS dari dua kutub berbeda secara ideologis itu, dinilai Shohibul, merupakan hal positif. Kedua partai itu dianggap sebagai pelopor digulirkannya Pansus Angket Bank Century yang mengakibatkan kerugian negara Rp 6,7 triliun.

Sementara itu, Ikrar menyebutkan, pidato yang disampaikan Mega untuk membuka Kongres III PDI Perjuangan adalah Pidato yang dahsyat. "Pidato itu jujur, lugas, apa adanya sehingga semuanya bisa memahami," katanya.

Ikrar menyatakan, sebuah kenyataan Indonesia masih belum merdeka dan tersandera negara lain untuk sebuah kebijakan sehingga pidato itu sangat relevan untuk menggambarkan situasi terkini. "Sehingga pidato Bu Mega telah menguras emosi, bahkan banyak rakyat, seperti pembantu rumah tangga, tukang becak, buruh, petani, yang menonton secara langsung pidato itu ikut meneteskan air mata," katanya.

Dengan demikian, menurut Ikrar, siapa saja bisa menangkap pesan penting pidato yang disampaikan Mega. "Harus dijabarkan secara nyata, bukan sekadar slogan," katanya.

"Saya amat menghargai pidatonya," kata Surya Paloh usai menghadiri pembukaan Kongres PDI Perjuangan di Inna Grand Bali Beach, Sanur, Bali, Selasa (6/4).

Menurut Paloh, Pidato mantan Presiden RI itu sangat berisi dan luar biasa. Isi pidato tersebut bisa menjadikan pelajaran politik bagi rakyat. Terkait kritik Megawati untuk pemerintah, Paloh menyarankan pemerintah menjadikannya masukan. Bukan malah memusuhi Megawati. "Pidatonya sangat menggugah emosi dan semangat nasionalisme," kata Paloh.

Pidato Ketua Umum PDI Perjuangan Megawati Soekarno Putri kemarin (Selasa, 6/4) mendapat apresiasi dari kader PDI Perjuangan karena telah memberikan arahan yang jelas tentang arah partai tersebut.

Namun, pengamat komunikasi politik Gun Gun Heryanto memberikan sejumlah catatan kritis atas pidato Mega yang disampaikan saat pembukaan Kongres III PDI Perjuangan.

“Sejumlah isu yang diangkat dalam pidato Mega, seperti isu penegakan keadilan dan hukum, perekonomian rakyat dan sistem pasar, pendidikan bangsa, perkembangan teknologi informasi dan lain-lain masih bersifat normatif, retoris dan tak banyak hal baru yang sifatnya progresif,” kata Gun Gun saat dihubungi Rakyat Merdeka Online (Rabu, 7/4).

Hal yang sama, kata Gun Gun, lima sikap politik Megawati juga terkesan normatif. Kelima sikap politik Mega tersebut adalah PDIP tetap setia kepada Undang-Undang Dasar 1945 dan Pancasila dalam membangun bangsa dan Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia yang berdasarkan hukum, sebagaimana cita-cita Proklamasi 17 Agustus 1945.

Kedua, PDIP menjunjung tinggi Kedaulatan Rakyat dan bertekad untuk senantiasa melaksanakan Amanat Penderitaan Rakyat. Ketiga, PDIP menjunjung tinggi Hak Asasi Manusia yang bersumber pada perikemanusiaan yang berkeadilan dan ber Ketuhanan. Keempat: PDI senantiasa bersama seluruh komponen bangsa, baik sipil maupun militer (ABRI) bertekad mempertahankan Persatuan dan Kesatuan Bangsa.

Dan kelima, PDIP mendukung pelaksanaan politik bebas aktif atas dasar persamaan hak dan derajat kemanusiaan dalam mewujudkan perdamaian dunia yang abadi.

“Padahal satu hal yang ditunggu banyak orang dari pidato Mega mengenai bagaimana formula transisi kepemimpinan di tubuh PDIP,” beber Direktur The Political Literacy Institute ini.

Dia mengatakan, Mega hanya menyerukan agar peserta kongres melahirkan kepemimpinan rakyat, tanpa penjelas yang memadai kepemimpnan rakyat seperti apa. Mega juga, lanjutnya, tidak menjelaskan bagaimana proses demokratisasi di internal partai dan tidak menjawab kritik banyak pihak soal gejala politik dinasti di tubuh PDIP.

“Dengan demikian, pidato Mega hanya memberi impresi kuat pada kader, tapi tak cukup kuat memberi impresi pada khalayak luas,” tandas dosen Ilmu Komunikasi Politik UIN Jakarta ini.

Gelar Pahlawan Gus Dur

Movie Online - Sudah dua kali Badan Pembina Pahlawan Pusat (BPPP) bersidang membahas gelar ‘pahlawan’ untuk almarhum Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur). Namun, dua sidang itu tak juga berhasil menggedok kelayakan gelar pahlawan nasional untuk Presiden RI keempat itu. Alasannya sama, lagi-lagi makalah riwayat kurang tajam.

BPPP bersidang kali pertama pada 27 Januari, beberapa hari setelah pengajuan gelar dari Kabupaten Jombang dan Pemprov Jawa Timur. Lembaga yang dipimpin Salim Segaf Al Jufri yang juga Menteri Sosial itu menyatakan berkas pengajuan kurang komplet. Alasannya, makalah kurang mendalam membahas riwayat kepahlawanan Gus Dur. Buku-buku karya Gus Dur pun lupa tak disertakan pihak pengaju.

Makalah lalu dikembalikan ke Badan Pembina Pahlawan Daerah (BPPD) Jawa Timur. Yang kebagian merampungkan makalah itu adalah sejarawan Aminuddin Kasdi yang juga guru besar Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa). Makalah rampung pekan lalu dan teken Wakil Gubernur Jawa Timur Saifullah Yusuf. Buku-buku juga sudah disertakan. BPPP lantas menggelar sidang kedua. Tapi, gelar pahlawan nasional tak kunjung disepakati. Alasannya masih sama. Makalah kurang tajam. "Sidang memutuskan, makalah kurang lengkap dan akurat. Masih perlu diperbaiki," kata Direktur Kepahlawan Keperintisan dan Kesetiakawanan Kementerian Sosial Suyoto di Jakarta, kemarin (16/3).

Apa yang membuatnya kurang lengkap? Suyoto tidak bisa menjelaskan secara rinci. "Apa ya? Saya juga tidak bisa menjelaskan ukuran lengkap itu apa. Mungkin begini, riwayat Gus Dur tidak selalu berisi hal-hal yang baik. Barangkali, apa yang kurang dari Gus Dur juga harus disebutkan di makalah itu," katanya.

Makalah tulisan Aminuddin Kasdi, kata Suyoto, setebal 75 halaman. Mestinya, makalah itu lebih tebal. Paling tidak 100 halaman agar lengkap. "Karena itu, makalah itu masih kurang mendukung," katanya.

Selain itu, kata Suyoto, buku-buku yang disertakan kurang banyak. BPPP baru menerima dua hingga tiga buku Gus Dur. "Barangkali kalau lima sudah cukup. Masih kurang mendukung lah," katanya.

Karena itu, makalah itu akan diperbaiki BPPD Jawa Timur dibantu BPPP. Apa yang bisa ditambahkan pusat, akan dibantu. Tapi, kelengkapan itu harus diupayakan sepenuhnya oleh BPPD. Setelah diperbaiki, BPPP akan menggelar sidang lagi. "Saya juga tidak bisa memperkirakan berapa kali sidang untuk menyatakan komplet. Bergantung makalahnya," katanya.

Gelar pahlawan nasional untuk Gus Dur terkesan maju mundur. Terhitung tiga bulan sejak diajukan pada awal tahun lalu, gelar itu tak kunjung disepakati hingga sekarang. Padahal, komitmen pemberian gelar sudah diberikan berbagai pihak. Mulai Mensos Salim Segaf Al Jufri hingga Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhyono (SBY).

Disangka Pemelihara Setan

Bikini Pics - H.Sukarja (85) bersama anaknya, Pardan (41), warga RT 03 RW 02 Desa Gombolharjo, Kecamatan Adipala, Kabupaten Cilacap, Jawa Tengah, dianiaya warga karena dianggap memelihara setan yang merasuki tubuh Narsem (50).

Saat ditemui di rumahnya, Rabu, Sukarja mengatakan, peristiwa tersebut terjadi pada Minggu malam (21/3) sehingga dia sempat trauma dan tak berani menerima tamu.

"Waktu itu ada keluarga Narsem yang datang ke sini dan memaksa saya menerima uang sebesar Rp400 ribu yang dibawanya. Orang itu meminta saya harus menyembuhkan penyakit yang diderita Narsem," kata dia dalam bahasa Jawa.

Dia mengaku bingung karena merasa tidak memiliki kemampuan untuk mengobati sehingga uang tersebut ditolaknya.

Mengenai penyakit yang diderita Narsem, dia mengatakan, konon hal itu disebabkan gangguan syaraf karena kepalanya pernah kejatuhan buah kelapa.

"Namun dia justru seperti orang kesurupan dan keluarganya menganggap Nasem kemasukan setan peliharaan saya karena dia berulang kali menyebut nama saya. Saya tidak mungkin pelihara setan atau tuyul karena saya seorang muslim," katanya.

Sementara itu Pardan mengatakan, ayahnya tetap berusaha menolak tetapi orang itu tetap meninggalkan uang tersebut di atas meja dan menyuruh ayahnya menyembuhkan penyakit Narsem.

"Orang itu keluar sehingga saya kejar, tetapi dia tetap tidak mau menerima uang itu kembali," katanya.

Selanjutnya, Pardan pun berangkat menuju rumah Narsem yang masih satu kampung dan kebetulan merupakan keponakan Sukarja.

Akan tetapi sesampainya di rumah Narsem, dia justru disuruh pergi keluarga Narsem karena yang mereka butuhkan adalah ayahnya, yakni Sukarja. Pardan akhirnya kembali dan mengajak ayahnya mendatangi rumah Narsem.

"Sesampainya di sana, bapak justru dipaksa harus bisa menyembuhkan Narsem. Padahal bapak tak memiliki keahlian mengobati orang karena bukan seorang dukun," katanya.

Setelah terus-menerus dipaksa, Sukarja akhirnya meminta segelas air putih dan dibacakan surat Al Fatihah. Selanjutnya air tersebut diminumkan kepada Narsem.

Akan tetapi setelah minum air tersebut, Narsem justru menjadi kejang-kejang dan keluarga emosi sehingga mencekik leher Sukarja hingga lecet-lecet.

Pardan pun berusaha menolong ayahnya dianiaya keluarga Narsem. Akan tetapi dia justru dipukuli oleh orang-orang yang ada di dalam rumah Narsem.

Kendati demikian, Pardan berhasil meloloskan diri dan melapor kepada kepala desa setempat.

Setelah itu, kata Pardan, kepala desa bersama anggota Kepolisian Sektor Adipala mendatangi rumah Narsem.

"Kami semua dibawa ke Polsek Adipala dan harus menjalani pemeriksaan pada Senin kemarin (22/3)," kata dia yang merasa kesakitan karena pelipis kanannya lebam terkena pukulan.

Saat menjalani pemeriksaan, kata dia, ayahnya menyatakan siap disumpah dengan cara apapun termasuk sumpah pocong untuk membuktikan kebenaran jika tidak memelihara setan seperti yang dituduhkan keluarga Narsem.

Akan tetapi, lanjutnya, keluarga Narsem tidak berani melakukan sumpah pocong. "Namun ayah saya tetap disumpah di bawah Al Quran," katanya.

Terkait peristiwa tersebut, dia mengharapkan, kasus ini dapat diproses secara hukum karena keluarganya menjadi korban penganiayaan.

Sementara itu keluarga Narsem tidak dapat dikonfirmasi karena mereka dalam suasana berkabung atas meninggalnya Narsem di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Cilacap, meninggal dunia pada Rabu dinihari, sekitar pukul 02.00 WIB, dan jenazahnya dikebumikan di Pemakaman Umum Desa Gombolharjo pada Rabu siang.

Terjunlah Ke Sungai

Watch Telenovelas - Tak banyak yang dapat dilihat oleh Tim Jelajah Musi 2010 dari tepi Sungai Musi di kota Sekayu, Kabupaten Musi Banyuasin, pada Kamis (11/3/2010). Apabila mengharapkan pemandangan padatnya lalu lintas angkutan sungai, seperti halnya di Sungai Martapura (Banjarmasin) ataupun di Sungai Kapuas (Pontianak), maka Anda akan sangat kecewa.

Sebab, tak banyak kapal yang hilir mudik di sana meski Sekayu hanya berjarak kurang dari 100 kilometer dari Palembang, sedangkan dari muara Musi jaraknya kurang dari 200 km. Sementara Sungai Musi pun mempunyai total panjang 700 km, di mana 400-500 km di antaranya dapat dilayari. Artinya, kelebihan Musi sebagai sebuah sungai telah disia-siakan oleh warga setempat.

Musi sebenarnya tak sendiri. Secara statistik, jaringan sungai di Sumatera Selatan bahkan terdiri dari 36 sungai dengan total panjang 4.535 km. Dan, sebanyak sembilan anak Sungai Musi masih dapat dilayari dengan kapal yang cukup besar. Namun, sungai-sungai di Sumatera Selatan terlihat lengang.

Bilamana ada sedikit keriuhan di Musi, hanya dapat disaksikan di hilir sungai, terutama pada ruas sungai antara muara Musi dan kawasan Jembatan Ampera di Palembang. Lalu lintas di ruas itu sangat padat karena sungai merupakan satu-satunya transportasi penghubung untuk mencapai Desa Nelayan Sungsang dan Desa Transmigrasi Makarti Jaya di Kabupaten Banyuasin, Sumsel.

Jika pun ada kapal besar menghulu Musi, bobotnya takkan lebih dari 50.000 gross ton. Ini untuk menyesuaikan kedalaman alur Musi yang pada saat surut dapat mencapai hanya -3,6 meter. Dangkalnya kedalaman alur atau draf ini diperparah pemerintah yang tak juga mengeruk Musi.

Investasi Sia-sia
Tak optimalnya angkutan sungai di Musi sebenarnya dapat dilihat sebagai pengabaian dari investasi-investasi infrastruktur di Musi, seperti pembangunan Pelabuhan Boom Baru di Palembang, Pelabuhan Muara Lematang, hingga pelabuhan secondary, seperti Tanjung Raja, Sei Lumpur, Sugihan, Sei Batang, Kuala XII, dan Sei Lais.

Ada pula dermaga di anak-anak Sungai Musi yang juga tidak dimanfaatkan dengan optimal, seperti Dermaga Tanjung Raya di Sungai Ogan (panjang 20 meter), Dermaga Kuala Sugihan di Sungai Sugihan (panjang 6 meter), dan Dermaga Muara Lematang di Sungai Lematang (panjang 6 meter).

Disia-siakannya investasi infrastruktur dermaga itu adalah sebuah kesalahan terbesar dari negara yang selalu kekurangan dana untuk infrastruktur. Jadi, apakah dermaga itu sekadar proyek?
Lantas, tak dimanfaatkannya sungai juga mengindikasikan perpindahan ”beban” menuju jalan raya. Itu harus diwaspadai agar jangan sampai banyak jalan yang rusak akibat dilalui truk-truk berbeban berlebih. Kerusakan jalan tak hanya menimbulkan ”biaya lebih” bagi transporter, tapi dampaknya kepada pengguna jalan juga berupa melonjaknya biaya transportasi.

Bagaimana cara termudah merevitalisasi peran sungai? Memerhatikan pendapat tiap warga di pinggiran sungai, ternyata apabila kepala daerah mau kembali menggunakan sungai, warga pun segera mencontohnya. Gubernur Sumatera Selatan dan para bupati di tepian Musi serta anak sungainya mesti makin sering terjun ke sungai.

Makin seringnya perjalanan dinas melalui sungai juga boleh jadi mendapat beberapa manfaat. Pertama, untuk mengetahui keadaan warga di tepi sungai. Kedua, sekaligus dapat menyaksikan kondisi sungai dan alurnya. Tiga, syukur-syukur ada inspirasi untuk memanfaatkan sungai.
Pemerintah daerah juga sebaiknya memberikan contoh usaha pengangkutan melalui sungai dengan mendirikan badan usaha milik saerah transportasi sungai. Ada beberapa komoditas yang dapat diangkut mulai karet, batu bara, kelapa sawit, hingga pasir—yang tentu saja harus didahului amdal.

Jika kepala daerah tak memulainya, jangan harap masyarakat mulai memberdayakan kembali sungai setelah puluhan tahun bergantung pada jalan raya. Bisa jadi, angkutan sungai akan makin mati meski di banyak belahan dunia lain banyak pemerintah malah membangun lebih banyak kanal dan sungai karena angkutan sungailah yang lebih efisien….

Latest News - The fitness craze seems to have caught with everyone, be it a celebrity or just a face in the crowd. All are doing it that is sweating it out in the gym, the pool or the nearby stadium. On dinner tables they prefer to talk rather than eat. An interesting development indeed, but what's depressing is that many of these people aren't happy doing what they are. Get close and you will notice their face muscles held taut during the morning walk, a smile from them would but be an impossible dream, they are in fact cursing themselves for being blessed with a prosperous life (no prosperity, no evil temptations to binge, right?)

Giving up exercise isn't an answer either...

That leaves us with no option but to get involved. And how do we get involved? Simple, just by finding an interesting activity, something that sounds play and not work. Confused still? Here's some good news; your sun signs can give you some helpful hints.

Aquarius : Tennis, basketball, trekking may sound interesting for them; the secret is that these people cannot work alone and love to have lot of people around, at least most of the time.

Another major need for Aquarius is to improve their circulation. So ideally they should pursue activities like running, swimming, dancing etc which strengthen their breathing capacities. And more...they get the desired results like excellent metabolism, raised immunity levels, glowing looks etc.

One warning though; these people are never happy settling down to routine. So even at a gym they have to be doing different kinds of exercises on different days to keep their motivation levels high.

Pisces : The fitness fight is a difficult one for Pisceans since they love to eat. It would be better if they keep away from pessimistic friends as they absorb the negativity a bit too fast and give up. One consolation though, Pisceans are excellent visualisers and they could motivate themselves towards greater fitness using this skill.

Since this is the sign of the fish, majority take to water activities swimming, surfing, rowing with great delight. Others would at least love to run by the beach. Fishes are also famous for graceful movements, so yoga would also suit fine. They also love to dare and may pursue horse-riding, dancing, skating, swimming often. All outdoor games, be it run and chase, cricket, kho kho will also agreed upon as long as they are challenging.

Though the gym is not the right place for them, Pisceans could be inspired by some great music and well designed exercise clothes. Even the promise of a relaxing sauna bath or a shower would motivate them to spend some more time at the treadmill. Dance being a great passion, step aerobics, aerobic dancing or even an evening at the disc will easily receive a "Let's Go" from them.

Aries : These people love to get over things fast and also get immediate results. Unfortunately exercise doesn't happen that way. Human body has got its limitations just like anything else. One advantage for these people is that they are always on the move and therefore do not put on weight easily.

Arians would do better by exploiting their strength, endurance, confidence and drive in tough activities like martial arts, wind surfing, football, basketball, gymnastics, boxing, skipping etc. Iron being their metal, even weight lifting would suit fine for them. While at the gym they should get into some strenuous activities to get rid off the stress.

However a major hitch is that these people consider everything as a challenge and don't learn to take it easy.

Taurus : Bulls belong to yet another group that adores good, sorry rich food and lots of rest. No wonder they find it tough to fight the battle of the bulge.

Typical Taureans don't love to work hard at the gym or the tennis court, they would rather walk or go cycling by the country side. They may choose swimming, not at the pool but the nearby stream. Nature is a greatest temptation for them since it relaxes them.

City dwellers should carry walkmans to the gym and listen to some inspiring music while working out. That releases the stress of keeping fit. If this isn't enough, the promise of a neat aromatherapy massage at the end may inspire them to do a few more pushups or abdominal crunches.

For those reluctant Taureans, family members could provide a gentle push by persuading them to take the kids out to play or at least walk the dog. Tennis is out since it calls for quick movements but a Taurean will take up the gardening work happily.

Gemini : These people are basically restless, so staying fit should be an easy game for them. They love change and flexibility. Gymnastics, cycling, swimming, aerobic dancing should be instant choices with them.

Geminis may also settle for tennis, badminton, Frisbee since they love to work with a partner. These games also give them time and space to chat. Brisk walk is yet another activity these people wouldn't mind.

Cancer : Water relaxes them; Cancerians simply love water sports like swimming, sailing, wind surfing and rafting. Even running on the beach would do for them as long they can keep in touch with water.

Hard driven exercise programs are out for these people. These sensitive souls need something more gentle, say stretching exercises. Water calisthenics would be best since it will soothe their nerves and strengthen them even more.

Cancer being the sign of the born nurturer, they love to cook, feed and eat really good food. A slight caution against good food will help them to stay in better shape.

Leo : They love to exercise but have to be pampered and persuaded, kings afterall. Hence these people would work better under a personal trainer. Music is a great passion with them, so they would find aerobic dance interesting.

These people like to have friends around but would love to be the focal point at health clubs. They are also competition lovers and spiritedly take part in basketball, tennis, golf or even power sports like kickboxing.

Last but not least, lions need to stretch a lot to feel better. Yoga, calisthenics, power walking would help them in this regard. Lions also shine well with a little sunshine. Virgo : These busy bees hate to rest. No wonder they don't find staying fit a great bother. Their only problem would be time but definitely not laziness. They would love to work out the stress and fat at the nearby gym rather than lie down looking at the stars. Virgos will however need the slow and balanced movements of yoga or meditation to cool down.

This is the class of strong men/women; endurance sports like hiking, cross-country skiing, long-distance running are made just for them.

A word of advice though, Virgos should not drive themselves so hard in the fitness race, but instead exert a little caution at the dining table. Yes, a balanced diet is what they need to get better and faster results. Let them have a nice meal and go for a walk or a bicycle ride.

Libra : He/she is the true party lover. But what these people forget is to rest. It would help if they remember that sleep is an important part of the fitness regime.

Librans love to exist in pairs (think of the two pans in a weighing scale); no wonder they love to have a gym buddy. You will find libran husbands pulling their wives or friends along to the pool or the squash court. Activities like squash, basketball, volleyball, dancing or sailing that calls for a partner would be fine with them.

Another important requirement for these people is to get their muscles strong and flexible. Golf, ball room dancing, gymnastics would help them achieve this need. One warning though, they may get a little carried away with all that socialising and forget to exercise!

Scorpio : These highly ambitious people demand some strenuous activities to help them release pent-up stress. They can take up boxing, long distance running or even the punching bag game. They would take up tennis or squash, but their partners' better give quick responses.

Sometimes these people desperately need to be left alone to do some quiet thinking. Therefore working out alone in the gym is ok with them. One major warning though, these people will have to get over inertia to turn their exercise regimen a success. Else, they would keep coming up with new excuses until a really good reason or pal drags them to the gym.

Capricorn : These people again thrive on change and make adjustments almost immediately. Ideally, their fitness schedule should include a variety of activities, say jogging on Monday, swimming on Tuesday, lifting weights on Wednesday, so on and so forth.

Capricorn being an earth sign, these people need to be in constant touch with the ground. Activities like hiking, rockclimbing, golf would suit them fine. However they should be doing some stretching and weight lifting exercises at least now and then, to keep their bodies strong and agile.

"Ya Selly pintarnya begitu, kecil-kecil (penipuannya)," ujar staf itu yang mengaku terakhir bertemu Selly saat digelandang ke Polsek Tanah Abang pada Januari 2010 lalu yang juga ditemani ayahnya, Yusral Rohban.

The Grizzly Bears Do It Again with Veckatimes

Lindsay Lohan - Grizzly Bear have never been about hype. Their last full-length album, Yellow House, seemed to virtually come out of nowhere to wide acclaim from fans and critics alike. Yet, even on the heels of what many people considered to be the best record of 2006, they toured very modestly, playing bars so small that they could barely fit their equipment through the door, while helping bring exposure to friends such as Dirty Projectors.

Things have changed since then, and the four lads have seen themselves open up for top-tier acts such as Feist and Radiohead. Regardless, Grizzly Bear have remained humble, and it's not their fault that Veckatimest may in fact be the most hyped record of the year so far.

This album is better then anyone ever expected it to be. Veckatimest, takes the lush components we loved from Yellow House and brings them to new heights. Vocal harmonies from songs like "Two Weeks" and "While You Wait For The Others" are reminiscent of Yellow House favorites "Knife" and "Easier". If you were a fan of the Yellow House orchestral sound then you will certainly enjoy Veckatimest.

Their approach to song on this album has greatly changed since Yellow House. Meandering qualities were replaced with pop sensibility and almost every track can be a hit on their own. Although these songs would do well independently from the album that is not how they were meant to be heard. Grizzly Bear created the album as a cohesive unit that should be listened to from song one all the way to the last song on the album.

While there is no telling what exactly is next for Grizzly Bear, it's safe to say that the release of this record will solidify their rightfully earned place as one of the most forward thinking modern rock acts in the pool. Let's just hope we don't have to wait for another three years for their next masterpiece to bubble up to the surface.

China's New Labor Contract Law Into Practice

Watch Telenovelas - Scene: More than 100 customers standing impatiently in approx. 25 queues waiting to pay. In each queue, there's only one cashier busy collecting money. "There used to be 3 cashiers in each queue and one additional person helping with packing ! " some people complained. "Why doesn't Carrefour hire more staff?" someone questioned. Each one has to wait averagely 30 minutes before they could pay for what they bought.

Such scene and criticism is not unusual these days.

With reports emerging of mass layoffs preceding its implementation, and factory closures or relocations to cheaper jurisdictions afterwards, the newly-effective Labour Contract Law has drawn criticism from both large employers, who complain that it adds unreasonable costs, and from employees, who are disappointed that the Law does not offer as many benefits for them as compared to the original draft. Employers are becoming very cautious to increase new staff.

These impacts are especially evident in labour-intensive manufacturers. There are many reports since end 2007 and early 2008 that Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea invested manufactures in China are closing its factories in China due to the increase of manpower cost.

Not only Asian investors having such concerns, Olympus Corp. and Yue Yuen Industrial (Holdings) Ltd., the largest branded athletic and casual footwear manufacturer who produce OEM for major international brand names such as Nike, adidas, Reebok etc. has decided to gradually relocate its manufacture to Vietnam in order to reduce cost.

China's largest telecommunication manufacturer Huawei has pushed the disputes about China new Labour Contract Law to the peak. Starting from Sept. 2007, Huawei has persuaded 7000 staff who has been working more than 8 years with Huawei to resign. Huawei afterwards re-hired all these staff and signed new agreement. This action is to avoid the term in the new Labour Contract Law: -

1. "If the employee has been working for the employer for a consecutive period of not less than 10 years, an open-ended employment contract shall be concluded, unless the employee requests the conclusion of a fixed-term employment contract."

2. "prior to the renewal, a fixed-term employment contract was concluded on two consecutive occasions, an open-ended employment contract shall be concluded."

This resign-rehire action has cost Huawei more than USD14 million. But the huge cost and criticisms from media and Chinese government have not stopped Huawei from implementing it.

Starting from end 2007, Century Dragon and our strategic partner Beijing Limin Law Firm have been busy with revising employment contract and providing consulting and training on the new Labour Contract Law for our customers. Traffic Mapping For Your Mobile Phone

Latest News - In late July, Google announced that it will be offering live traffic information to mobile phones in more than thirty U.S. cities. Plans to provide the traffic feature to PCs are still in the works. The Google traffic feature will be released as an update to the free Google Maps for Mobile service, which has been available for 18 months for download on the Google web site. Google would not disclose how many subscribers it has, but it says the number is growing rapidly.

The feature expands Google's mapping technology into an area where Microsoft Corp. and Yahoo already have a presence, but in different ways. Yahoo and Microsoft offer real-time traffic information on their Web-based mapping services for PCs. Microsoft has chosen to move into the mobile “space” by licensing traffic-monitoring technology for mobile devices to a Kirkland-based startup, InRix Inc. Yahoo currently has no mobile traffic service. MapQuest, an AOL property, offers traffic reports over cell phones for $2.99 per month.

With typical bombast, Microsoft announced that when operable, the InRix mobile service will actually predict upcoming traffic problems – however currently the MSN mobile mapping technology provides no traffic information at all.

In the cities where it works, the Google feature will show traffic conditions on most major highways - indicating green for clear roadways, yellow for medium congestion and red for high congestion or stopped traffic. Google Maps will work on most Java-enabled phones offered by Cingular and Sprint and all color BlackBerry devices. The service does not currently work on phones from other major carriers such as Verizon or T-Mobile USA. Google Maps sends the data – obtained from an undisclosed source - every five minutes.

Although Google's free service doesn't identify traffic hazards or accidents, it will let drivers know if there is a clogged road. Google also shows the expected drive time for a route when phone users search for driving directions. It has introduced a feature that lets users save their favorite locations and frequently used driving directions for future use.

The three search engines are not alone, however. In February, Rand McNally Traffic began offering a downloadable mobile application that delivers news of real-time traffic flow, accidents, weather conditions and road closures to 94 cities. Rand McNally Traffic is available on Sprint, Nextel, AT&T Wireless and other services for $3.99 a month.

Media giant Clear Channel Communications' Total Traffic Network feeds content in 125 markets in the country to 15 services. One of them provides the information to subscribers with Sprint mobile phones for a $9.99 monthly subscription. That service is relatively new. Kekayaan dan kepandaiannya dalam melobi telah membuat para pemegang kekuasaan di negara kita tidak berdaya. Dalam kondisi di penjara sekalipun, Artalyta Suryani masih bisa mendapatkan perlakuan istimewa. Ruang tahanan di Rutan Pondok Bambu berhasil disulapnya menjadi ruangan mewah, tidak kalah dengan ruangan yang ada di hotel berbintang lima.

Rakyat pun dibuat tercengang, ketika Satuan Petugas (Satgas) Pemberantasan Mafia Hukum yang melakukan inspeksi mendadak di Rutan Pondok Bambu menemukan sejumlah barang mewah, seperti AC, TV plasma, alat fitnes, home theatre, lemari pendingin, dispenser, kasur double spring bed, kamar mandi shower, telepon genggam Blackberry, beberapa permainan anak-anak dan tempat tidur bayi. Bahkan di tempat yang lain, atau tepatnya di lantai dua, Satgas Pemberantasan Mafia Hukum juga menemukan fakta yang tidak kalah mencengangkan.

Ruang tahanan Limarita alias Aling, terpidana seumur hidup kasus narkoba juga tidak kalah mewahnya. Di ruangan tersebut ada ruang karaokenya. Padahal ruangan tersebut seharusnya merupakan gedung untuk perkantoran petugas rutan. Tetapi ruangan tersebut telah disulap menjadi ruangan pribadi mewah yang dipakai untuk terpidana kasus suap dan terpidana kasus narkoba.

Keadilan Belum Sepenuhnya Bisa Ditegakkan

Rakyat pun terpaksa harus kembali mengelus dada. Keadilan belum juga bisa sepenuhnya ditegakkan di negara kita. Lantas kita pun bertanya, kenapa kejadian-kejadian seperti ini bisa terulang kembali? Sampai kapan orang-orang seperti Artalyta Suryani dan Limarita yang memiliki uang dan kekayaan melimpah bisa mempermainkan hukum dan para pemegang kekuasaan di negara kita seenaknya? Padahal selama ini pemerintah selalu menggembor-gemborkan tentang pentingnya penegakkan hukum, tanpa pandang bulu sehingga tidak ada yang merasa didiskriminasikan. Pernyataan seperti itu bahkan dikeluarkan oleh beberapa pejabat tinggi di pemerintahan kita.

Kini mereka malah menjadi dalang dari beberapa kasus pelanggaran hukum. Kenyataan memang tak pernah sesuai dengan yang kita harapkan. Selalu saja ada oknum-oknum yang tidak bertanggung jawab yang sengaja mengambil keuntungan dari jabatan yang dipegangnya.

Pengakuan yang mengecewakan dari beberapa pejabat yang pernah bertugas menangani masalah rutan, akhirnya harus kita terima bahwa temuan Satgas Pemberantasan Mafia Hukum tersebut sebenarnya bukan merupakan barang baru. Praktek-praktek seperti yang terjadi pada Artalyta Suryani dan Limarita sebenarnya sudah sering terjadi. Tetapi baru sekarang ditindaklanjuti.

Mantan Menteri Hukum dan Ham, Andi Mattalatta bahkan sudah mengakuinya. Saat dirinya menjabat, ada dua kepala Lapas dan 30 pegawai Lapas yang dipecat karena telah memberikan fasilitas berbeda kepada para terpidana tertentu. Berarti selama ini rakyat telah dibohongi oleh para pejabat dan para aparat yang bertugas di Lapas.

Selama ini rakyat berharap, pemerintah dapat menegakkan hukum dan peradilan, tanpa pandang bulu sehingga tidak ada pendiskriminasian dalam hal pemberian hukuman. Kalau seorang seperti Artalyta Suryani yang telah merugikan negara dengan kasus suap sebesar Rp 6 miliar terhadap Jaksa Urip Tri Gunawan, bisa tidur nyenyak di ruang tahanan dengan berbagai fasilitas mewah yang didapatkannya, lalu apa bedanya antara ditahan atau tidak? Mungkin cuma beda suasana saja, dari rumah pindah ke ruang tahanan yang tak kalah mewah dengan apa yang biasa ia dapatkan di rumahnya. Hanya masalah kebebasan saja yang dibatasi. Apa keadilan seperti ini yang selama ini kita harapkan?

Pantas saja kalau para pelaku korupsi di negara kita tidak merasa takut lagi akan tertangkap dan dijebloskan ke ruang tahanan. Karena di dalam ruangan tahanan mereka tidak mendapat penyiksaan dan tekanan dari para petugas rutan. Makanya hingga kini para pelaku korupsi di negara kita tidak merasa jera. Mereka tenang-tenang saja.

Coba bandingkan dengan para terpidana kasus penganiayaan, pemerkosaan, pembunuhan, perampokan dan kasus pemakai narkoba yang lainnya. Hampir rata-rata mereka mengaku mendapat penyiksaan dan tekanan dari para petugas rutan selama masa tahanan. Beberapa dari mereka yang pernah mendekam dalam ruang tahanan pun akhirnya merasa jera karena tak sanggup menahan siksaan dan hidup di dalam ruangan yang sangat mengenaskan.

Harapan Rakyat

Saat ini rakyat sedang menuntut keadilan hukum dari pemerintah. Tugas pemerintah adalah mewujudkannya. Pemerintah harus dapat mengembalikan kepercayaan rakyat yang kini sudah semakin memudar. Pemberian ruang tahanan istimewa seperti yang terjadi pada Artalyta Suryani dan Limarita seharusnya menjadi pelajaran berharga bagi pemerintah dan bagi para penegak hukum di negara kita untuk dapat bersikap tegas lagi. Jangan sampai kejadian seperti itu terulang kembali.

Keberhasilan Satgas Pemberantasan Mafia Hukum membongkar adanya pemberian ruangan mewah untuk terpidana tertentu di Rutan Pondok Bambu tidak cukup hanya dengan melakukan pencopotan jabatan Kepala Rutan, Sarjo Wibowo saja. Tetapi harus ditindaklanjuti hingga ke akar-akarnya, guna mengungkap jaringan mafia hukum di lembaga-lembaga pemerintahan kita.

Di sisi lain, pemerintah juga harus dapat melakukan intropeksi terhadap beberapa kelemahan dalam penegakan hukum yang selama ini terjadi kalau mau kejadian seperti itu tidak terulang lagi. Kalau orang seperti Artalyta Suryani bisa menggunakan kekayaan yang dimilikinya untuk menyuap para petugas di Lapas, berarti ada yang salah dengan sistem kepengawasan yang selama ini terjadi di seluruh Lapas yang ada di Indonesia. Kenapa kejadian itu bisa terjadi, mungkin juga bisa disebabkan oleh gaji para petugas Lapas yang rendah sehingga mereka menjadikan para terpidana korupsi seperti Artalyta Suryani sebagai tambang uang untuk mendapatkan penghasilan tambahan.

Dalam kondisi yang seperti ini, keduanya sama-sama diuntungkan dan keduanya sama-sama saling membutuhkan. Terpidana membutuhkan kenyamanan dengan pemberian fasilitas ruangan yang mewah, sedangkan para petugas Lapas membutuhkan uang untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hidup keluarganya. Inilah yang harus kita sadari. Faktor kesulitan ekonomi sering membuat kita lupa diri. Segala macam cara untuk mengatasinya kerap dilakukan. Tidak peduli perbuatan tersebut melanggar hukum atau tidak. Selama perbuatannya tidak diketahui para penegak hukum, mereka akan terus melakukannya.

Penemuan Satgas Pemberantasan Mafia Hukum harus dipahami dalam konteks hukum yang lebih luas lagi. Saat ini yang kita inginkan bukan hanya adanya kesamaan perlakuan bagi seluruh terpidana yang berada di seluruh Lapas di negara kita, tetapi lebih dari itu, kita menginginkan adanya pemberian hukuman yang setimpal bagi para terpidana sesuai dengan tingkat kejahatan yang telah diperbuatnya.

Harapan kita, Satgas Pemberantasan Mafia Hukum beserta KPK juga dapat sesegera mungkin membongkar jaringan mafia hukum yang ada di lembaga-lembaga pemerintahan kita, seperti di lembaga Kejaksaan, Kepolisian, Mahkamah Agung, Mahkamah Konstitusi dan lembaga-lembaga pemerintahan yang lainnya.

Kasus perseteruan yang pernah terjadi antara KPK dan Polri dan kasus yang terjadi di Bank Century telah membuktikan kepada kita bahwa ternyata kasus-kasus tersebut sebagian besar banyak ditunggangi oleh para pejabat tinggi di pemerintahan kita. Karena jabatan dan kekuasaan yang mereka miliki sering disalahgunakan untuk kepentingan pribadi.

Hanya dengan terus melakukan pengusutan dan penyelidikan, tanpa membedakan status dan kekuasaan, upaya penegakan hukum di negara kita dapat membuahkan hasil seperti yang selama ini kita harapkan. Tetapi tanpa adanya upaya yang serius dan tanpa adanya kesadaran dari para pejabat yang memegang kekuasaan di pemerintahan kita untuk sama-sama mau bekerja sama untuk menegakkan hukum demi keadilan seperti yang selama ini diharapkan oleh seluruh rakyat Indonesia, rasanya penegakkan hukum di negara kita tidak ubahnya seperti menegakkan benang basah.

Tentu kita tidak menginginkan kondisi itu terjadi di negara kita. In Port-au-Prince, many houses built on steep ravines have collapsed, Ms. Chenet said. She said from her house she had heard a couple of explosions, which she believed to be gas explosions. The orphans in the two institutions run by Mercy and Sharing weren't hurt, although an orphanage worker suffered a broken leg, she said.

President Barack Obama said his thoughts and prayers were with the people of Haiti, and U.S. officials said they would consider immediate humanitarian aid.

An Associated Press videographer saw the collapsed wreckage of a hospital in Petionville, near Port-au-Prince. Reuters news agency cited a witness saying several buildings had crumbled in the capital and that there were dead and injured trapped in the rubble.

At least 1.8 million people live within the area where the earthquake had its highest intensity, John Bellini, a geophysicist at the USGS, told The Wall Street Journal. "With a strong and shallow earthquake like this in such a populated area, it could really cause substantial damage," he said.

The quake was the most powerful to hit Haiti since at least 1770, according to USGS records, Mr. Bellini added. "This isn't normally an earthquake-prone area," he said.

Within minutes of the original tremor, two aftershocks rolled through the area, measuring 5.9 and 5.5 on the Richter scale.

Eight in ten Haitians live in poverty, according to the CIA World Factbook. The Caribbean nation was hit hard by a series of hurricanes in the past few years, adding to the country's misery.

Rep. Eliot Engel (D., N.Y.), chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Western Hemisphere subcommittee, said: "This is the worst possible time for a natural disaster in Haiti, a country which is still recovering from the devastating storms of just over a year ago."

Liberals have argued that in fact Christmas is not under attack at all. Instead some have said that the "War on Christmas" theme is being used by some conserviatives (like those at Fox News) who wish to increase ratings by creating a fake Christian martyrdom in America.

While the phrase "Merry Christmas" is perfectly acceptable to Christians to use it outside of the Christian realm seems to actually lessen the meaning of the phrase. In asking everyone to use the greeting as a sort of neutral, secular greeting it could be argued these groups actually lessen the meaning of the message. If you are asking non-Christians to use the phrase with the Christian meaning you are essentially act like they believe something they do not. Christians would certainly not appreciate if Muslims demanded that everyone be greeted with "Assalamu alaikum" which literally means "May the peace and mercy of Allah be with you."

Lindsay Lohan - It will give us about protected our children.Answer, if you would, for me, a few very simple yet life-altering questions. Questions which require total honesty and much introspection. Questions, that, when answered truthfully, could quite possibly become the catalyst for the breakthrough in your finances, your happiness, your purpose… in fact, your entire life! So tell me... as you look at your life and circumstances and look back on the dreams you hoped and wished to obtain… Are you living the life you imagined? If not… Then, are you doing all you can do, to accomplish your deepest desires?

Now, I don’t mean, some, of what you can do. Nor, most, of what you can do. No. Are you doing ALL that you can do, to accomplish your deepest desires?

Ramalan Cinta in Just last week I reached a turning point in my life. A life altering moment. As I sat conversing with my mentor, he posed that very question to me. He asked, “Chris are you doing all that you can do, to accomplish your deepest desires?” In that moment, as I directed the question inward to myself, in all honesty, I had to answer… “No”. No, I was not doing all that I could do to accomplish my deepest desires. What an empowering revelation! My mentor went on to say that 95% of people wish for their dreams and hope for their dreams, but lack that “Go get it attitude”, that’s required to achieve the dream. And the funny thing is that, although they don’t have it, they certainly expect others to have it! They expect their kids to have it! They expect their employees to have it! They expect their co-workers to have it! Yet, they don’t have it!

In that moment of truth,I came to the realization that there was, in fact, much more that I can do. What about you? What more can you do? What more are you willing to do? Are you willing to pay the price? If you’re unwilling to pay the price for your dreams and goals,in full, up front… you will eventually pay the price for failure and regret,in increments, over a lifetime. One way or another, you will pay a price. The question now becomes…which price are you willing to pay?

If you’re anything like me, you operate in kinetic energy, always in motion. Most people operate in latent energy, the complete opposite, willing to tolerate doing nothing and getting nothing, as a result. Although latent energy may be full of, potential, kinetic energy, by choosing to remain idle, it will never experience the power of motion. When I come into contact with people who operate in latent energy, we tend to disagree because we are looking at things from two totally different perspectives. They operate out of the current situations or “the facts“. I choose, always, to operate out of the possibilities:

Their argument goes something, like:

* The fact is… you don’t have the money, so you can’t start the business.
* The fact is… you’re broke and have until the end of the month to move out.
* The fact is… your relationship is in trouble.
* The fact is… you’re a single parent and the odds are against you.
* The fact is…. you don’t have a college education and that’s what is required.

But, here’s what I know: (You must always factor in the Possibilities!)

* Good things can happen for you!
* Become a believer and they will!
* You’ve got to keep fighting!
* You can’t give up!
* You can’t throw in the towel!
* You’ve got to refuse to lose!
* You’ve got to eat, sleep, and breathe a “Go get it attitude”!
* You must get in motion, moving toward your dreams & goals; things will happen in your favor when you get in motion!
* Everyday that you rise…there’s still time!

As Woodrow Wilson so eloquently put it:

“We grow through our dreams. All great men and women are dreamers. Some, however, allow their dreams to die. You should nurse your dreams and protect them through bad times and tough times to the sunshine and light which always come.”

There comes a time when you have to drop your burdens, in order to fight for yourself and your dreams, because life is a fight for territory and when you stop fighting for what you want, what you don’t want will take over!

Below are 5 keys to implement, as you begin working toward a “Go get it Attitude”…

1) Spend time each day thinking about what you want to do and where you want to go.
2) Be your own judge! Don’t criticize yourself for where you are; simply evaluate where you are and the actions you are taking to get out of your situation.
3) Invest in a coach! If you have been unsuccessful in getting things done on your own, get some help.
4) Get a team! Surround yourself with people who are operating out of their passions. People who are going for it! People who refuse to lose! And if you can’t find anyone like that, work on yourself until they “show up“. Don’t ever compromise on the quality of the company you keep. It’s better to be alone than to wish you were.
5) Validate yourself! Don’t wait for others to give you a stamp of approval. The fact that you are on the planet qualifies you to pursue your greatest desires, with all that is in you. “You were created by God and inspired by His word and that’s enough.” Besides, no one on this planet is qualified or justified to evaluate your greatness. Embrace the fact that you’ve already been stamped…Approved!

If where you are today is not where you want to be, you must not waste another day. Get started! Get moving! Get busy! Your best day has yet to come! There’s a more fulfilling life with your name on it, and as long as you are still here… it is never too late to claim it!

Kambing-kambing aneh muncul di Jawa Timur. Di Lumajang, lahir kambing berkepala dua, bermata empat, dan bertelinga dua. Sedangkan di Lamongan, lahir kambing berkaki delapan.

Pemilik kambing berkepala dua, bermata empat, dan bertelinga dua itu adalah M Hasyim (25), warga Dusun Ramba'am, Desa Sukorejo, Kecamatan Pasru Jambe, Lumajang. Hingga Sabtu (24/1/2009), kandang milik Hasyim dipenuhi warga yang penasaran dengan kambing aneh itu.

"Kambing saya melahirkan 2 anak kambing, 1 kambing jantan normal dan satunya betina memiliki keanehan ini mas," kata Hasyim saat ditemui detiksurabaya.com di kandang rumahnya, Sabtu (24/1/0/2009), sambil memperlihat kambing aneh itu.

Saat melahirkan kambing anehnya, sang induk berteriak dan meronta tanpa henti. Saat kepala kambing akan keluar, sang induk semakin keras berteriak dan badannya kejang.

"Saya khawatir mas, saya bantu melahirkan dengan menarik sang anak kambing," jelas bapak satu anak yang ditemani istrinya, Nuril (20).

Setelah anak kambing berhasil keluar dan dibersihkan, Hasyim mengaku kaget dengan kondisi kepala kambing yang ada dua. "Saya heran dan terhenyak, kok gini anak kambing saya ini. Lalu saya panggil mertua saya untuk melihat dari dekat," ungkap Hasyim yang baru 1 tahun memiliki kambing itu.

Sementara itu kambing berkaki 8 lahir di Dusun Gendong, Desa Sidobinangun Kecamatan Deket, Lamongan. Kambing milik H Suri lahir pada Jumat (23/10/2009). H Suri kaget induk kambing yang ia miliki berusia 3 tahun melahirkan dua anak dalam kondisi berbeda. "Dua anak kambing itu satunya normal dan satu lagi berkaki delapan," terang H. Suri, Sabtu (24/10/2009).

Pengamatan detiksurabaya.com, letak ke delapan kaki kambing ini sama dan mirip dengan kaki kambing normal lainnya. 4 kaki lainnya muncul di setiap paha. Christmas cake and it entails a lot of picky details to be able to finish a perfect and delectable treat. Normally, Christmas cake should be prepared well ahead of time to set out its moistness and flavor. I usually procrastinate and bake it a week just before Christmas. However, this year

I am determined to do it the right way. So yesterday the kitchen gave off a gentle spicy whiff as the cake was slowly cooked for four and a half hours. Just one hint of its aroma is enough to conjure Christmas up.

Just before Christmas I habitually take out the unfailing old Delia Smith cook book to look into the cake recipe and the quantities needed for the marzipan. Her recipes almost always work and are perfect, if not always inspired. Now she has long been replaced by the younger, and sexier Nigella. However, her books are still at the back part of my shelf, where I can easily locate and grab should I need to check on details of some dishes. In this article, I will share my traditional fruit cake recipe which I usually prepare for Christmas.

Delectable Fruit Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

450 grams or 1 pound of currants

175 grams or 6 ounce of sultanas

175 grams or 6 ounce of raisins

50 grams or 2 ounce of glazed cherries (optional)

50 grams or 2 ounce of mixed candied peel - chopped

3 tablespoons of brandy

225 grams or 8 ounce of plain flour

½ teaspoon of salt

¼ teaspoon of grated nutmeg

½ teaspoon of mixed spice

225 grams or 8 ounce of unsalted butter

225 grams or 8ounce of soft brown sugar

4 pieces of large eggs

50 grams or 2 ounce of chopped almonds

1 dessertspoon of treacle

1 grated rind of lemon

1 grated rind of orange

Instructions:

The night before you plant to make the cake, marinate all the dried fruit and peel with brandy. Place it in a covered bowl and put it aside over night or for at least twelve hours.

Grease and line a 20 centimeter or an 8 inch round cake tin or an 18 centimeter or a 7 inch square one.

Sift the flour, salt, and spices altogether. Cream the butter and sugar altogether in a large mixing bowl until it is light and fluffy (make sure to do this thoroughly). Beat the eggs and add them gradually to the creamed mixture, making sure to beat well each time. Next, gently fold in the flour and spices. Add and stir in the dried fruit and peel, treacle and the grated lemon and orange rind. Pour the mixture into the cake tin, spreading it out evenly. Tie a band of brown paper around the outside part of the tin and cover its top with a double layer of greaseproof paper with a hole cut in the middle of it. Bake the cake at 140oC/275oF for 4 ¼ to 4 ¾ hours. Never open the oven door to test until at least 4 hours have passed. Once the cake is baked, set it aside to cool. Once it has cooled wrap it in a layer of greaseproof paper then foil. Delia Smith suggests adding it with brandy once every week by poking a couple of holes with a skewer then letting few teaspoons of brandy infuse in.

The cake should now be well-wrapped in greaseproof paper and foil and kept on a shelf in the store cupboard. A week before Christmas I usually make the marzipan to go with it. I’ll be sure to get a lot of help with it, as the children compete to collect up any scraps that fall off or are trimmed.

Pilek

Ambil getah dari batang tanaman patikan kebo atau getah dari batang pohon meniran. Tempelkan sedikit pada kapas, lalu oleskan pada bagian bintitnya, sedikit saja, jangan sampai terkena mata.

Menurut Endah, hilangnya nafu makan dapat disebabkan cacingan atau hal lain seperti masuk angin. Cara mengatasinya, bersihkan 1 lembar daun jarak pagar, setelah itu hangatkan sebentar di atas tutup panci. Beri olesan minyak kelapa pada daun tersebut dan dipilin, kemudian tempelkan daun tersebut di atas pusar anak, yang sebelumnya sudah diolesi dengan minyak telon.

Bikini Pics. As I sit down to write this review, against my better judgement, I have to say that 2012 actually doesn’t suck! Having sat through Emmerich’s last two disasters The Day After Tomorrow and 10 000 BC, my faith in his one-dimensional storytelling was seriously waning. Sure, Independence Day was great, as was The Patriot but having not made a good film for the better part of a decade, I was skeptical.

As glowing as my introduction may be, please don’t go into this movie thinking that your world is going to be rocked. To call this movie shallow is an understatement: think ‘kiddie pool’ deep. The script at times is random (the entire movie’s premise is so stupid – the sun is releasing neutrinos which are causing some sort of radioactive decay to the Earth’s core as predicted by the Mayans as their calendar ends in Film 2012), but the plot really is secondary to the action sequences.

Cinematically, the movie is also rather frustrating. Every action movie cliché in cinema is used in this film. The hand coming up from the rubble, the protagonist’s vehicle being veiled by a cloud of dust and debris only to come out of it at the last possible moment, the plane taking off as the ground under it collapses. They’re all here, and all used more than once.

But I digress, the movie is loud, violent and, at times, visual stunning. As perverted as it is, some of the destruction sequences are particularly mesmerising. Special mention needs to go to the destruction sequence of Washington DC. It’s probably the shortest sequence of the film, but it’s probably the coolest. Furthermore, every single shot that has been used in the print campaign of the movie is actually in the film. So many times we’ve been teased in disaster movies of land masses crumbling and buildings collapsing that never materialise, but this movie delivers on everything it promises.

The biggest criticism I had for 2012 was the casting. As an ensemble, the cast doesn’t really work well together. John Cusack as the accidental hero doesn’t really gel for me. Oliver Platt as the President’s Chief of Staff also seems completely out of place, and is probably the single most frustrating character on screen. Platt should stick to comedy, as the contrived script does nothing but enhance his shortcomings as a dramatic actor. The film’s shining stars come in Amanda Peet, Woody Harrelson and Danny Glover, all of whom steal the show whenever they grace the screen. Unfortunately, none of these actors share a single scene together throughout the course of the movie.

With the TV show 2013 already in development, with its focus on the aftermath of the events that take place in the film, Sony Pictures seem to have high hopes for the film, and so they should. As a mind numbingly stupid action flick, few have been released this year that compare to the scale of 2012.
If action films tickle your fancy, and you can switch your mind off for the bloated 156 minute running time, I strongly recommend 2012. Sure the script is trite, the acting is a little lame at times, but it’s an action blockbuster with a budget upwards of US$200 million, you didn’t really expect it to be this decade’s Schindler’s List, did you?
